FCT Auditor, Wife And Children Allegedly Kidnapped By Unknown Gunmen

The Auditor-General of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration, his wife and undisclosed number of his children were kidnapped yesterday by some unknown gunmen.
The incident occurred on their way back to Abuja from Edo state around 12 noon yesterday.

A family friend disclosed that contact has been made with the family as they called to demand a ransom of N20 million warning family members not to make the incident known as is the practice in such situations.
The victim’s first son is reportedly doing everything possible to get his family members out of the kidnappers den.
All efforts to get an official confirmation on the incident at the office of the FCT minister proved abortive as nobody was willing to talk. In the same vein, calls put through to the special assistant on media to the FCT minister, Jemila Tangaza, were not answered neither did she respond to text messages sent to her to confirm the incident.
Meanwhile, FCT police spokesperson, Doris England, has said the command was not aware of the development. She however assured that she would make the necessary contact to confirm the allegation. When she did, she said that there was no such report brought to the attention of the FCT command. “If it happened, nobody has reported it yet,” she said.
